Terms & Booking Policy

Please read before placing a booking deposit. These terms apply to all Big Screen MTL rentals.

1. Booking & confirmation

Submitting a booking request does not confirm your booking. A date is only held once Big Screen MTL confirms availability and the booking deposit is received. To reserve the date, a $100 booking deposit is required and is applied toward your total rental price.

2. Damage / security deposit

A refundable $300 damage/security deposit is required for standard private backyard rentals, collected before setup or on arrival. It is returned after teardown once all equipment is inspected and there is no damage, missing equipment, or excessive cleaning required. Larger, shared, corporate, or public events may require a deposit of $500 or more and may be quoted as custom pricing.

The customer is responsible for damage caused by:

Guests, children, or pets
Food, drinks, or spills
Unsafe use or moving of equipment
Weather exposure after setup
Failure to follow setup and use instructions

3. Viewing hours & setup

Outdoor viewing is best at dusk or after sunset for the clearest picture. Setup can be done earlier so everything is ready before guests arrive. Standard use is until 11 PM.

4. Noise & neighbours

Outdoor audio must remain neighbour-friendly and may need to end or be reduced by 11 PM. Montreal noise rules vary by borough. The customer is responsible for permission, noise rules, condo/landlord rules, and permits where applicable. Big Screen MTL reserves the right to reduce or shut off audio if there is a complaint.

5. Setup space & power

Plan for an area of roughly 20-25 feet wide, 15 feet deep, and 12 feet of clear height to allow for the screen, inflatable frame, anchors, safety clearance, and a wind buffer. Nearby outdoor power is preferred and should be confirmed before the event date.

6. Weather

Outdoor setups depend on safe weather. Rain, high wind, lightning, or unsafe ground conditions may require rescheduling or cancellation for the safety of guests and equipment. A backup rain date can be arranged where possible.

7. Locations & permissions

Private backyards, condo/shared spaces, schools, community spaces, parks, and corporate locations can be booked. For shared, public, school, or corporate events, the client is responsible for any venue permission, condo or landlord approval, and permits required.

8. Liability

The customer is responsible for the safety and conduct of their guests during the event. Big Screen MTL is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage arising from guest behaviour, the event location, or the customer's failure to follow setup and use instructions.
