Refundable damage/security deposit for standard private rentals
The damage deposit is returned after teardown once equipment is inspected and there is no damage, missing equipment, or excessive cleaning required. The customer is responsible for damage caused by guests, pets, food/drinks, unsafe use, weather exposure, or failure to follow setup/use instructions. Larger, shared, corporate, or public events may require a higher deposit and custom pricing.

Before you book.
When can movies start?
Outdoor viewing is best at dusk or after sunset. Setup can happen earlier so everything is ready when guests arrive.
How much space is needed?
Plan for roughly 20-25 feet wide, 15 feet deep, and 12 feet of clear height for the screen, anchors, equipment, and safety clearance.
Where do you service?
Big Screen MTL is based in Montreal. Nearby boroughs and surrounding areas can be booked, with travel fees confirmed before your date is locked in.
What can we watch or connect?
You can connect a laptop, streaming device, game console, or karaoke source. Clients are responsible for their own content, accounts, rentals, and public performance permissions where required.
Do I need outdoor power?
Yes, nearby outdoor power is preferred. If you are not sure, mention it in the booking form and we will review the setup details.
What about rain or wind?
Outdoor setups depend on safe weather. Rain, high wind, or unsafe ground conditions may require rescheduling or cancellation.
What about noise rules?
Outdoor audio must stay neighbour-friendly and may need to end or be reduced by 11 PM. Clients are responsible for borough, condo, landlord, neighbour, and permit rules.
Do you stay onsite?
Standard rentals include setup and teardown. Onsite support can be quoted for larger, public, school, corporate, or more complex events.
Are public, condo, or school events allowed?
Yes. We book private backyards as well as condo/shared spaces, schools, community spaces, parks, and corporate locations. For shared, public, or larger events, a higher damage deposit and custom pricing may apply, and the client is responsible for any venue permission, condo/landlord approval, and permits required.
